Head of program & private sector engagement advisor, GERES
With a background in management of SMEs, Mr CRES specializes in microfinance and development projects. After 12 years working in the private sector in Europe and Asia and 4 years managing microfinance institutions in Africa, he began working with GERES in 2016 as a Program Manager following several fields projects focusing on energy efficiency.
Romain works currently in Myanmar (EU) on the production and dissemination of improved cook stoves, in Morocco (French Development Agency) on the establishment and diffusion of low consumption gas ovens, in Guinea (CTCN/UNIDO) on the raw brick manufacturing process for housing, and also in Tadjikistan (FDA) on the project of houses with low energy consumption. Its scope of work extends from microeconomic analysis to the design of financial mechanisms to promote the development of energy efficiency. At the COP 22, he was speaking at the request of KFW and Carbon Trust on a side event entitled : “How to finance energy efficiency in developing countries ?”.
